The Grass Isn’t Always Greener…

The hard working, defensive stud, face of the Pistons now turned “missing piece” for the Chicago Bulls isn’t so happy in his new home.

Bummer.

Marc Stein’s piece on this is informative, but the conclusion he makes is powerful. He concludes,

We’ll see. We’ll see if he can rebound the way we expect Wallace to rebound, because his rocky final season with the Pistons and the circus-like start to his Bulls career open Big Ben up to a deeper question: Is he really not the team guy we’ve always heard he was?

Good question…

  1. I lost a lot of “repsect” for Wallace when he openly decided not to go back into the game against Orlando last year.

Him leaving Detroit was a bummer and kind of left a sour feeling in me, but business is business and people leave corporate america for more money and better jobs all the time. Why can’t an athlete?

I know all the arguements on both sides and the idea that sports transcends everyday life, blah, blah, blah. But it doesn’t really bother me.

It does make you wonder though on how Carlisle and Larry Brown were as coaches and how Detroit’s front office handles things behind the scenes. I find it hard to believe that this is all of a sudden a problem with Ben.

I’d rather have this playing out in Chicago rather than Detroit though. It makes the Pistons look like genius to let him go.
