Losing my wallet & gaining my faith

I can not find my wallet. This isn’t the first time it’s happened, but it is the first time it has happened when I have been absolutely sure of where I placed it. We have searched everywhere. Went to places we were last at, etc. No wallet.

So, today I pray, “Father, please help me find my wallet. I need it to live…Oh, wait, okay, I know I need only you to live, but it sure would be nice to have my…ah, well if that’s true then…yeah, I know you’re my provision, but I was…alright, then, nevermind.”

So, Father is going to have to come to my aid, cause I don’t have my wallet: no id, no c-cards, and little cash.

Did I tell you that interigating my wife and kids at to the whereabouts of my wallet was fun…hehe.

But then I wonder if Father is like me as a father. Wouldn’t most dads say, “Hey son if you were stupid enough to loose it, then well…maybe this will help you remember to always put your wallet in the same place (something I vow to do everytime I loose it),” etc? I would. I’d be like, “Oh and now you expect me to put my money and effort into supporting your forgetfulness?”

But, I didn’t forget. I know I put it down where I normally do. I know it (hence the interigation of my family). Oh well, we’ll see how it all goes, or comes together, or whatever…

UPDATE: I FOUND MY WALLET! I celebrated like the chic who found her lost coin in Jesus’ parable! I did the “found the lost wallet” dance and the kids laughed…

Otsego County Fair

Wednesday & Friday from 12-3pm is the Otsego County Fair’s free kids day. Click here for more information.

Tonight was the Rodeo, sponsored by the Otsego County Fair. Believe it or not but Tim and I (Brad, too) were going to ride the bull, but they no longer allow walk-ons to do it. Bummer. It would have been great seeing ole Timmer on a bull!!

UPDATE: Okay, I found out today that Tim (that bugger) went to the Rodeo, sick, and rode the mechanical bull for 8 seconds. Dang it, wish I would’ve went. I would have done it, even though I can’t stand the whole country scene one bit…

Public Announcement: Resignation

To whom it may concern:

I feel compelled to again state the reason(s) for my resignation from the office of pastor of the Pigeon River Baptist Church in Vanderbilt, Michigan. When I resigned the office in March of 2006, I posted this article on my blog explaining the reasons. I also wrote the church’s family and friends this letter to detail with clarity the reason(s) of my resignation. Whatever reasons that may be circling or given by others that are not pertained in either of these articles is to be ignored, for it is not true (eg, “Toby is leaving the ministry cause his ‘house is not in order’”…ah, no…not even in the ball park of my reasoning)…

I realize that people will think what they will think and that thinking something bad is easier to justify than thinking something good. I also realize that my reasons for leaving may not fit into some people’s reasoning as to why/how/when someone should leave a ministry. Does different equal wrong? At any rate, for those who desire the truth they can (again for some) read below, and listen to my words about why I resigned rather than the words of others about why I did – who knows better, me or others?

And now for your reading pleasure…*lol*
